Authors Pages#

SKOS is a standard way to encode an authority list. And one the most frequent use of an authority list is to establish an authors' list.

Please find hereunder a list of pages giving examples about how authors can be managed with SKOS in DSpace.

These examples also show how the system performs with non latin alphabet.

Authors display#

Red circles (from top to bottom, from right to left):

1. User can choose the size of letters
2. Name variants can be in different languages
3. Identified users can tag items
4. WoS and Scopus author’s ids can be clicked to open a separate window with author’s information from WoS and Scopus (see excerpt of those pages below). The standard WoS button for “ResearcherId” can be used (example provided in the “Public View example”).

Editing Authors information#

DSpace standard editing form has been overhauled:

• to list fields in the same order than their display;
• to provide sections (groups of fields) and a table of content at the beginning;
• to allow to modify, add or delete multiple fields and multiple occurrences of a field before submitting the form;
• to allow menus or autocomplete for all SKOS controled field;
• to use a permitted languages definition for each field to reduce the list to what is necessary;
• to have a field length to reduce the editing window when possible;
• to have prefix / suffix menus for role refinement (type of author contribution for instance) and indexing weight ("top" indicator for a subject)
